I had made an appointment to get a driving lesson and some safety driving instruction from one of the instructors from theDepartment of Motor Vehicles. I had seen a commercial on television that they were giving free lessons to anybody who wanted to improve their driving scores. I thought that it would be a good idea. Since earlier this year I got a speeding ticket and had to pay over 180 dollars for it. That is a lot of money, and at the time I couldn't really afford it but I did end up paying the ticket. I haven't gotten into a car crash since I was 23 years old. That was my only car accident and it wasn't my fault. I skidded of my black ice when I was living in Flagstaff Arizona and there was a car in the ditch that got stuck. A car coming from the on ramp onto the freeway lost control and bumped me and I crashed into the car in the ditch. Really, I think the man in the car who bumped me should be taking adriving lesson to improve his driving on safety and speeding.

Even though I waskind of nervous about my driving lesson, I still did good. And I got a really high score on my test. We did a little of the parallel parking, and went to an empty lot to practice on some driving safety techniques. There were only 2other people there besides us that was taking thefree driving lesson.I really thought there would be a lot more people because it was announced on a popular T.V. channel and it was free. Who doesn'tlike to get something that is free. Especially something that usually costs a lot?

About an hour into the lesson, I noticed that the empty parking lot wasstarting to fill up. Since I was almost finished with the testing, I wasn't too worried about it. I guess thatI was one of the first few people to show up because by the time I had finished and started to leave, there was a huge line forming to test on thesafety procedure part of the test. Then I started thinking I was glad that I got up early this morning and decided to getthere early so I could get it over with. If I would have waited even an hour longer, I would be one of those people waiting in line.
