Since leaving school I had always had a job, until now that is, the recession had hit me badly work wise and it was crippling me and my family. It was the summer holiday for the schools in the area and both my kids wanted to do so much before they had to go back to their schools but we just hadn't got the money and they didn't seem to understand why not, they wanted to go out in the car but I told them we couldn't afford to and they kept on asking why as they didn't want to go anywhere that was going to cost money they just wanted to go for a drive, I told them that even driving in the car costs money because we have to pay for the petrol and nowadays petrol isn't cheap, then again nothing is now.

My wife kept looking on the computer and in the paper for jobs, their was none in the trade that I was trained up for and I wasn't sure about retraining for another trade but it was getting to the point where I was just about willing to do anything as it was putting a major strain on our home life.

One night my wife found a huge advert in the newspaper asking for people to take driving instructor courses and at the end of it they would be guaranteed a job and a car, when she mentioned this to me I said to her I bet it is a scam, why would someone want you to take a course then give you a job and a car at the end of it.

My wife being who she is hated me to be right so she decided to take it upon herself to do some detective work and look into driving instructor courses and particularly this one that she had read about in the local newspaper.

She first started searching on the Internet for driving instructor courses, there wasn't that much information on them in particular apart from the fact that if you wanted to be a driving instructor you had to register and complete one of these driving instructor courses before you could teach anyone to drive.

My wife then rang up the number that was in the paper and asked the person on the other end of the phone if they had a website, yes of course they replied and gave her the information she needed.

Once she looked up the site she found that it was legitimate, the company had a registered trademark and VAT number on the website, they also had a full address of the head office and not just a P O Box which some companies who were scamming people tended to have.

In the end she told me all she had found out and I decided as long as they didn't ask me for money up front then I had nothing to lose, I rang the company there and then and they sent me an application form, I filled the application form in when it arrived and I have just got my date and time through for my interview which is next week.

Fingers crossed things are finally starting to look up for me and my family and if all goes well I will have a new job with a secure future in the next couple of months.
